Amid the ongoing lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, Three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldiers were reportedly martyred and three others injured in a terror attack that happened in Jammu and Kashmir.
The incident took place in Sopore town in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district when terrorists tried to infiltrate across the LoC. All three personnel lost their lives in a gunfight with terrorists during patrolling in Sopore town and officials were in an armored vehicle. The CRPF jawans braced bad weather and rough terrains to thwart attempts of infiltration by terrorists.
“A terrorist fired from close quarters killing three jawans and injured two others including the driver of the armoured vehicle,” a police officer said.
According to officials, Security forces received information about the presence of terrorists and soon the troops launched a cordon and search operation in the area to track down the terrorists.
Officials say the injured personnel have been shifted to the Army’s 92 base hospital in Srinagar.
This is the third attack on the CRPF in the Kashmir valley within a week, news agency PTI reported, adding a CRPF soldier was injured on Friday after terrorists fired at a similar check post in Pulwama.
At a time when India is going through a bad patch due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Pakistan wants to make the most of the opportunity by pushing terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir.
Pakistan, on the other hand, is seeking help from India to provide 10,000 ventilators to Pakistan in the time of crisis, on the other hand, terrorists are trying to infiltrate into Jammu & Kashmir to create chaos in Kashmir valley.
