Ramayan is a TV serial that was aired on Doordarshan back in 1987. It was aired for almost 1.5 years and then came to an end. This show is based on the life of Lord Rama. The story revolves around Lord Rama and showcases his entire life.
The government decided to lock the entire nation for 21 days to prevent further spread of the COVID-19 outbreak which will end on April 14. Due to the lockdown, all of the industries have shut down their businesses including the entertainment industry. The shooting of movies and TV serials have been postponed. So the government. decided to re-telecast this epic show in this time of crisis.
Meanwhile, a video is widely circulating on social media in which veteran Gujarati actor Arvind Trivedi, who played the role of Raavan in the epic show, can be seen watching ‘Sita Haran’ (Kidnapping of Sita) episode. In the video, he can be seen folding hands in front of his television.
During the course of the video, one can also see Arvind fold his hands in the end. An Instagram user, who shared the one minute two seconds long clip on the portal, wrote, “Did a great job! Justified his character amazingly. So touching. 84-year-old veteran #ArvindTrivedi ji watched his #Ravana role after 30 years & seeks forgiveness from others.”
The role of Ram in ‘Ramayana’ serial was played by Arun Govil, Sita played by Deepika Chikhalia, Lakshman was played by Sunil Lahiri, and Hanuman by late Dara Singh.
In the video, Trivedi seems to have sought an apology from Lord Ram. He had left a great impression on People’s minds by playing one of the toughest roles as Ravana. He is still remembered by millions of people across the country for his outstanding role in Ramayana.
Now, the epic show is broadcasting on DD National Channel at 9 am and 9 pm every Sunday. The reason for its coming back is the Coronavirus pandemic.
