Monsoon session of Delhi Assembly started on Thursday with an uproar. Aam Aadmi party MLA Ajay Dutt tore the shirt in the assembly to protest against the demolition of the Ravidas temple. He blamed the BJP for this whole controversy and said that the people of the anti-BJP do not want us to stay. He tore his shirt inside the assembly and opened the shirt buttons. The assembly stood for a long time in the campus with a torn shirt, during which his photo was also taken which is viral.
The session began with a tribute to former Chief Minister Sheila Dixit, Sushma Swaraj and former Mangeram Garg. With this, Assembly Speaker Rakhi Birlan created a ruckus at the Ravidas temple, but the Speaker Ramnivas Goyal silenced him for the time being.
At the same time, the ruling party shouted slogans on the demolition of the Ravidas temple as soon as the sequence of condolences was read. At the same time, AAP MLAs raised slogans of BJP Hi Hi. Seeing the uproar over this, the Speaker of the House adjourned the proceedings of the House several times.
During the four-day monsoon session, the opposition is set to bring a motion of thanks on the matter of abolishing Article 370.
It is being told that members will be allowed to take up matters of their area under special mention rule 280 after the Question Hour. After this, Power Minister Satyendar Jain will present the annual report of DERC on the table of the House along with many other reports.
Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot will also present the reports related to his department. After this, members of the ruling party Sanjeev Jha, Nitin Tyagi and Bandana Kumari will participate in the discussion on the reforms undertaken in the power sector by the Delhi government. Apart from this, the report of the Petition Committee of Delhi Assembly regarding corruption in the Municipal Corporation can also be presented in the House.
Monsoon session will be special
Delhi will allow the budget from the House for election announcements during the monsoon session to be held before the Assembly elections. During this period, the government will present a proposal to spend at least Rs 900 crores on several subjects like free electricity up to 200 units, free bus travel to women and deploying marshals for women safety in buses.
According to sources, the Delhi government will have to spend Rs 600 crore to provide 200 units of free electricity to the citizens of Delhi for one year. In this item, the Department of Energy has just prepared a draft to get a grant of Rs 535 crore. The permission of the House will be taken on this by presenting it in the Legislative Assembly.
Five MLAs nominated in the assembly table
Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goyal has nominated five members to the assembly table for the year 2019-20. There are four Fateh Singh, Madanlal, Girish Soni, Bandana Kumari and Jagdish Pradhan. The importance of these members increases when the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly is not able to run the House due to ill or any other reason. Then any of these members can be allowed to run the House.
