A Delhi court has ordered police to issue 10 day pre-arrest notice to Shehla Rashid because of spreading false news about the Indian Army.

On Friday, the Patiala House Court disposed off Rashid’s anticipatory bail application with this direction after it was told that the investigation is at the preliminary stage.

Shehla Rashid is an ex-student leader of JNU and former vice president of JNUSU, on 18 August tweeted 10 tweets about the condition of Kashmir in which she claimed that the current situation in the valley is very bad. But after a few hours, The Indian Army has rejected her claims and termed it baseless.

Shehla Rashid had tweeted that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are saying that J&K Police has no authority on law & order situation. They’ve been rendered powerless. Everything is in the hands of paramilitary forces. One SHO was transferred on a complaint of a CRPF man. Not only this, Shehla alleged in her tweet that security forces entered the house at night and picked up the Kashmiri boys.

She also alleged, “In Shopian, 4 men were called into the Army camp and “interrogated” (tortured).”
