After this double century, Shubman Gill became the youngest Indian batsman to score a feat in first-class cricket. In first-class cricket, Shubman has scored a double century at the age of 19 days 334 days and has left behind Gautam Gambhir. Gambhir did this feat against Zimbabwe at the age of 20 and 124 days. Shubman Gill has broken this record of Gambhir after 17 years.

Apart from this, Shubman Gill has also become the youngest player to score a double century in first-class cricket outside India. He has also become the youngest Indian player to score a double century on Caribbean soil. Gill’s innings was historic. He also shared a 315-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Hanuma Vihari in the second innings of this match. Hanuma Vihari also scored a century in this match and scored 118 runs off 219 balls. Vihari hit ten fours and a six in his innings. However, in the first innings of this match, Shubman was a victim of the Golden Duck and returned to the pavilion after being dismissed on the first ball.
