The Indian Premier League is the most prestigious T20 tournament in the world. Its popularity grows exponentially with each passing year.
Anything here is of the highest caliber, from world-class players to esteemed analysts. And the IPL cheerleaders who charm the crowd with their energetic performances deserve to be recognized.
Their collective efforts have played a significant part in the tournament’s progress. Meanwhile, Cheerleaders have been an integral part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) since its inception in 2008. They are typically young women who perform dance routines and cheer for their respective teams during matches.
However, in recent years, there has been some controversy around the use of cheerleaders in the IPL. Some critics argue that the use of cheerleaders objectifies women and promotes a sexist culture in cricket.
In response to this criticism, some teams have chosen to replace their cheerleaders with local dance troupes or other forms of entertainment. Other teams have continued to use cheerleaders but have made efforts to ensure that they are treated with respect and not exploited.
Do you know how Much IPL Cheerleaders earn per Match?
Ultimately, the use of cheerleaders in the IPL is a matter of debate and opinion. Some people enjoy the entertainment value that cheerleaders bring to the matches, while others feel that their presence is unnecessary and potentially harmful.
Owing to COVID rules, the cheerleaders missed the chance to be a part of last year’s IPL. Nonetheless, this time around, they are back in full swing!
As per media reports and sources IPL cheerleaders earn about Rs. 14,000 and Rs. 17,000 every match. If reports doing the rounds are to be believed, then the teams like CSK, Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Delhi Capitals pay their cheerleaders more than Rs 12,000 each match.
In addition, the teams like the Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore pay Rs. 20,000 to each of their cheerleaders. Nonetheless, it is the cheerleaders of KKR who earn the highest amount. As per the reports, KKR pays Rs. 24,000 per game to their cheerleaders.
