After Rahul Gandhi’s resignation from the post of Congress President, the party is yet to find a new chief. Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on this is going on. Sonia Gandhi has left the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting. He said that I and Rahul are not part of the consultation process to elect the Congress President, so we are out of it. In the meeting, will the Congress choose its new president or will the search for Rahul Gandhi’s successor still be prolonged, its picture will be clear. If sources are to be believed, before the working committee meeting on Friday, in the meeting of state leaders and MPs of the party, all the leaders gave a clear signal to Rahul Gandhi that he will not accept the imposed president.

Based on the panel, the decision is
being taken that a decision will be taken on the basis of any panel or arrangement for the selection of the new chairman in the CWC meeting. Sources said that the Congress Working Committee (CWC) will have a brief meeting first, after which it will be divided into five groups. The leaders of the group will brainstorm the names of the next Congress president along with the party heads of state. In this way, the name of the next Congress President will be decided. Significantly, there were several rounds of meetings before this to choose the new president, but no name could be agreed upon.

Many Dalit community leaders in the race,
sources say that many Dalit community leaders, including Kharge, are involved in the race for the post of president. The names of several senior leaders, including Mukul Wasnik, Mallikarjun Kharge, Ashok Gehlot, Sushil Kumar Shinde, are being discussed about the new president. Sources also reveal that Mukul Wasnik’s name is at the forefront. If seen, in the most critical phase of the Congress, even when currently leading the Gandhi family, the party leaders are openly disagreeing with the party line. In such a situation, it can be easily understood how serious the future challenge will be for the new leadership outside the Gandhi family.

The leaders of the states made clear their intentions that this meeting of Congress leaders held on Friday was called on the issue of Article 370, but in this, the leaders of all the states made clear their intentions regarding the new president. These leaders said that a section of the party is putting forward some names for the new president who are not able to lead the party. Punjab Congress President Sunil Jakhar clearly said that some selfish people are throwing sponsored names in an attempt to sabotage Rahul Gandhi.

According to sources, if there is a need for competent leadership in difficult times, there are some names in the race for the post of President who are the leaders of industrial houses of Mumbai and they have no basis in the party cadre. After the meeting, these leaders also conveyed their message to Rahul Gandhi. These leaders told Rahul that the party needs competent leadership in the current difficult times and hence they have to play an important role in deciding their successor. According to sources, after this, Rahul assured these leaders that they are like his family and that his views will be taken care of in choosing the new president of Congress.

It is worth mentioning that after the bitter defeat of the Congress in the Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi resigned as the President of the party. Rejecting his resignation at that time, the Congress executive authorized him to make a radical change in the party. However, Rahul Gandhi remained firm on his stand. He made it clear that neither he nor any other member of the Gandhi family would bear this responsibility. While announcing his resignation, Rahul had also said that he would continue to work actively for the party despite not being the Congress president.
