In recent news, The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday arrested a man and his daughter in connection with last year’s cowardly Pulwama terror attack carried out by Jaish-e-Mohammed, in which 40 CRPF personnel were martyred.

The investigation was underway since the Pulwama terror attack took place. The duo, identified as Peer Tariq and his daughter Insha, has been arrested by the NIA team and being brought to Jammu and being taken to Jammu to seek their custody.

The case was handed over to the NIA to probe the conspiracy behind the Pulwama terror attack that occurred on February 14, 2019, in which Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist Adil Ahmed Dar drove an explosive-laden vehicle into a bus at Lethpora in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

During the interrogation, Tariq Ahmad and his daughter Insha Tariq (26) were questioned by the police and later handed over to the NIA. According to reports, the duo was involved in the Pulwama terror attack. “The conspiracy regarding the attack had taken place in their house,” an official said.

Probe shows that Tariq Ahmad and his daughter Insha Tariq had a connection with Mohd Umar Farooq, a Pakistani IED maker, and was in communication with him over the telephone and other social media platforms.

As many as 40 CRPF personnel died on February 14 when a CRPF convoy was assaulted by a Jaish terrorist who rammed an IED-laden vehicle into one of the trucks.

Jaish-e-Mohammed had later released a video of the terrorist who launched an attack on the convoy and also claimed responsibility for the brutal attack that disturbed the moods of entire India. India subsequently conducted a successful airstrike in Balakot in retaliation in which around 300 terrorists were killed.
