Muslim man allegedly befriended a Hindu woman on Facebook using a fake name, raped her, and then coerced her to convert to Islam. The accused has been arrested by the police.
According to the woman, the accused deceived her using a fake name on Facebook. He later asked to meet and raped her.
The woman, who is a resident of Ghaziabad, claimed that subsequently, she became pregnant, but was forced to undergo an abortion by the man. She said that it was then that she found out that the man’s name was Khalid and he had lied about his religion.
In a complaint to the police, the woman said that Khalid had started to exert relentless pressure on her to convert to his religion. Ultimately, he took her to a mosque in Nizamuddin, Delhi, where the forced conversion took place, the woman told the police.
The woman also said that Khalid had pretended to be a journalist.
Responding to the complaint, the police promptly registered a case against Khalid under IPC Sections 376, 313, 323, and 509. They arrested him near Vijay Nagar railway station.
